Hardacre fans: We need your help!
A late April windstorm caused approximately $28,000 in damage to the historic Hardacre Theater’s roof. The damage included fallen brick from the tallest part of the structure and a parapet wall. It was discovered by the Hardacre Theater Preservation Association shortly after the storm, when rainwater was entering the theater onto the stage and some bricks were found in the alley.
Strong winds tore a seam in the roof, pulled side off the parapet wall and ripped some bricks off the fly tower, the tallest part of the building.
While the Hardacre building is insured, and some emergency funds exist from state sources, the deductible and deterioration costs related to fixing the roof are, unfortunately, substantial. The repair has already started out of necessity to save the building, but the Hardacre will need funds to continue to operate.
