TIPTON, Iowa — Trivia fans and “experts on everything” are invited to assemble teams for a great cause—saving the Hardacre Theater—for a Trivia Night event.
The Hardacre Theater Preservation Association (HTPA) will host a Trivia Night from 7 to 9 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 14, with proceeds going to the “Save the Hardacre” campaign. The event will be held at the Tipton Golf and Country Club, 1143 Cedar Valley Road, in Tipton.
All teams should sign up at www.thehardacre.org before the event. Cost is $10 per person, and up to eight members per team. The grand prize for the winning team is a 50/50 split of the attendance. The more people attend, the bigger the prize.
There will also be gift baskets for bidding, including a wine basket, movie basket, black-and-gold wreath basket and a candy bouquet. Tickets for gift basket bidding are $1 each, six for $5 and 12 for $10.
Food and drink will be available for purchase at the country club.
“We want this to be a fun night for everyone, so there will be questions of every difficulty level,” said Terri Zumbahlen, HTPA board member and event organizer. As per many trivia night events, participants can purchase “mulligans” to get a free pass on answers they don’t know. Ten mulligans can be purchased for $10.
The Trivia Night event is one of several events planned for the Hardacre’s fall fundraising drive. Others include two Tipton Travelogue events on Oct. 8 and Nov. 12, featuring regional speakers presenting on their worldwide travels. Both events are at 2 p.m. at the Tipton High School auditorium. The HTPA will also present the Blue Jean Ball on Saturday, Nov. 11, with live music, food and drinks in a country atmosphere at the Cedar County Fairgrounds.
